Independent assurance on financial statements — with clear communication and direct partner responsibility.
The purpose of an audit is to provide an independent professional opinion on a company’s annual financial statements and thereby enhance the reliability of financial information for owners, management, lenders, and other stakeholders. An audit is not simply about checking the numbers: it also requires an understanding of the company’s operations, accounting system, and the risks that could lead to material misstatements in the financial statements. Auditing practice in Hungary is based on the Hungarian National Standards on Auditing, which incorporate the relevant International Standards on Auditing.
Using a risk-based approach, we examine, among other areas, significant balance sheet and income statement items, accounting estimates, the recognition of revenues and expenses, receivables and liabilities, as well as the accounting records and documentation supporting the financial statements. The audit also includes gaining an understanding of relevant internal controls and communicating significant matters identified during the engagement to management. The outcome of the audit is the independent auditor’s report and the audit opinion expressed therein.
At Akkredit Kft., compliance with professional requirements is combined with direct partner-level communication. Our aim is for the audit to be more than the fulfilment of an annual statutory obligation: we want our clients to understand significant accounting and financial risks in a timely manner, the background to any issues identified, and the areas that require management attention. Drawing on our extensive experience with medium-sized enterprises, we tailor each audit to the company’s actual operations and specific risk profile.
